The short version
Free tools work without an account. Uploaded files are deleted after transcription. We do not sell data and do not use your files to train AI.
What we store
- An anonymous browser ID in a cookie, so your minutes, files and purchases stay with you. Paid users also get a recovery key to move them to another device.
- Uploaded audio/video in private storage until the transcript is ready, and at most 7 days.
- Transcripts of your uploads until you delete them (Delete button on each transcript).
- Payment records (product, amount, date). Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
- Daily Listen results as anonymous counts, plus your streak in your own browser storage.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and our self-hosted Umami, with page paths only — video IDs and links you paste are stripped before anything is sent.
Who processes data for us
Hosting (Vercel), database and file storage (Supabase), speech-to-text (Deepgram), AI summaries (OpenRouter and the model provider it routes to), payments (Stripe) and analytics (Google, plus our own self-hosted Umami server). Each receives only what its job needs. Uploaded audio is sent to the speech-to-text provider with data retention for model training switched off where the provider allows it.
Your choices
Delete any transcript from its page. Ask us to delete everything tied to your browser ID or recovery key at hello@scribecue.com. Blocking cookies keeps the transcript tool working, but uploads and purchases need the browser ID.
Children
ScribeCue is not directed at children under 13 and paid features are for adults.
